Inokulasi jamur Mikoriza Arbuskula untuk meningkatkan toleransi dan pertumbuhan bibit Kelapa Sawit terhadap pengaruh alelopati Alang-Alang

Low soil fertility is the most problem in the development of oil palm plantation. Allelophatic substances released from previous vegetation, such as alang-alang (Imperata cylindrica) can be inhibited the early growth of oil palm seedling. Therefore, it needed to increasing the tolerance and growth of this seedling to allelophatic effect by AMF inoculation. The research used the factorial experiment and it arranged by completely randomized design. The treatments are AMF rate (0, 5, 10, and 15 gram/seedling) and allelophatic substance concentration (0, 10, 20 and 30 percents). AMF population around 25 propagul per gram inoculant. Seedling growth is observed during four months. The results indicated that AMF inoculation of 10 gram/seedling can increased oil palm seedling growth than another rates. Alang-alang allelophatic substance can inhibited this seedling growth. It also showed that indigenous propagul of AMF from soil media can infected the root in spite of the beneficial effect is still below the introduced AMF propagul. AMF root colonization is not affected by allelophatic substance and it indicated that AMF inoculation can be implemented in order to overcome the allelophatic substance of alang-alang.
