Coffee is a commodity that is part of Indonesia's natural wealth. This study agreed to determine the characteristics of coffee cultivation and the influence of the coffee commodity on the economic development of the community on the development of economic activity in Tirtoyudo District. This research uses descriptive research methods. The research was conducted in a coffee cultivation area in Sumbertangkil Village, Tirtoyudo District, Malang Regency. This research was conducted for 1 month, from January 6, 2021 to February 6, 2021. Data obtained by observation and interviews with coffee farmers. Data analysis using the R / C ratio. The results showed that the characteristics of coffee cultivation in Tirtoyudho sub-district included the use of superior seeds, good planting techniques, plant care, post-harvest coffee processing and coffee sales. The robusta tirtoyudho coffee commodity has an effect on the economic development of the community because it has an average R / C value of 2.2.
