UPAYA PENINGKATAN PRODUKSI LATEKS DENGAN CARA INFUS HARA DAN STIMULAN MELALUI XILEM SAP PADA BATANG KARET (Havea brasiliensis)


As a latex producer, productivity of rubber plantation in Indonesia is the lowest among five Asian countries, reaching only 1.16 ton.ha-1year-1. Meanwhile, highest productivity of rubber plantation is achieved by India, reaching 1.82 ton.ha-1year1. Using stimulant is commonly practiced to boost latex output in rubber plantation. Despite its advantage, it has negative effects such as dry sucking area that causes the plant to no longer exert latex during sucking process. Basically, stimulant itself doesn’t boost biosynthesis process of latex (polyisoprene) but it slows down the coagulation process in sucking area so the flow of latex lasts longer. Therefore, another alternative that empowers rubber tree in producing polyisoprene is to give whole nutrients through xylem sap located in stem of rubber.
Research has been conducted in PTPN VIII latex plantation in Garut, Tasikmalaya since April until August 2015. Equipped nutrient solvent contained micro nutrient which consist of N-NH2+ : 0,2 %, N-NO3-: 2,3 %, P2O5 total: 1,0%, total K2O : 2,4%, total Ca : 0,08 %, total Mg : 0,07 % dan total SO42- : 0,28 %. Another nutrients are : total Fe :67,9 mg.kg-1, total Cu : 28,9 mg.kg-1, total Mn : 38,7 mg.kg-1, total Zn : 16,4 mg.kg-1. The nutrient solvent was diluted 100 times prior to aplication so that it had electrical conductiviy value of 3,83 mS/cm and pH value of 5,52. The mentioned solvent was aplied through infuse on rubber trunk. Observation was conducted toward latex weight and tapped dry latex concentration with S/2 D/3 equation. Obtained observation result tend to increase, wheter it is latex weight or dry latex concentration. Even more, the dry tapping area of a certain latex plant due to stimulant usage exert latex again after nutrient aplication.
